Don Houston- Background

In 1989, Don Houston graduated from the University of Northern Colorado, with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He spent 15 years in the Finance/Marketing industry, working for major corporations. In 2002, he answered his true calling, filmmaking.

Mr. Houston attended classes at the Colorado Film School in 2003, and began writing the feature-film screenplay, FRACTURED. He also became a Certified Producer and Director through the Hollywood Institute program during that year.

Later in 2003, Mr. Houston joined an international film-production association, Group 101 Films. Over the next 6 months, he wrote, directed, and produced 6 short-horror films. The final short-horror film was the critically acclaimed 24-minute short, THE SUMMONING. Reviewed by the local & national radio and television movie critic, Reggie McDaniel, STARZ Entertainment.

Mr. Houston was also involved in a feature-film project for Scene 17 Pictures, titled CLICK, where he served as an Associate Producer. CLICK is a Vietnam-War movie, filmed entirely in Florida by award-winning Director, Steven Kahler. It continues to receive high praise from critics and audiences alike.

In March of 2004, Don Houston entered his screenplay, FRACTURED, in the "Project Greenlight" screenplay contest, where it was awarded Top 100 Honors.

Later in 2004, he formed Cracked Film Productions, LLC, as a way to package his feature-film project for studios, producers, and agents to review as a potential project to produce. In 2004-2005, he wrote, filmed, and edited the FRACTURED promotional preview, and designed the project folder and website.

This could not have been accomplished without the contributions of his loving and supportive wife, Elsa Anaya, and the many talented individuals who worked on this project presentation. Please see the CREDITS link to see all the contributions these individuals made.

Currently Don Houston is serving as the Executive Creative Consultant on the television documentary series, VINTAGE ADVENTURE, by Author/Filmmaker Mike Olafson, distributed by Canamedia, LTD.

Throughout 2005-2006, Don Houston plans to present this project to studios and/or producers who would be interested in producing a Horror/psychological-thriller film with fantastic potential for box office, DVD, and cable sales in all markets.
